더레퍼런스는 2026년 4월 11일(토)부터 5월 9일(토)까지 《배회하는 정면들 Wandering faces》를 개최한다. 

이번 전시는 OPEN PT 2024 Best Portfolio 선정자인 이은지의 개인전으로, 작가는 촬영과 암실 인화의 시차를 통해 경험과 이미지 사이의 간극을 탐구한다. 그는 피사체를 해체하고 재구성하는 실험적 접근으로 사진의 물질성과 시간성을 새롭게 확장한다.

디자인을 전공한 이은지는 사진 전공자는 아니지만, 우연히 경험한 암실 인화 과정을 계기로 빛과 시간, 그리고 인화지의 물질적 변화에 주목하게 되었다. 찢고, 오리고, 붙이는 행위를 반복하는 그의 작업은 개인의 기억과 무의식을 사진 이미지와 접합시키는 과정으로 이어진다. 이러한 방식은 마치 닫힌 문처럼 직접적으로는 닿을 수 없지만, 관람자의 상상을 유도하며 이미지의 이면을 암시한다.

이은지의 사진은 단일한 기록을 넘어 서로 다른 감각과 시차가 교차하는 스펙트럼으로 작동하며, 보이는 것과 보이지 않는 것 사이를 지속적으로 왕복한다. 특히 오려지고 분절된 이미지들은 부재를 드러내는 동시에, 보는 이로 하여금 그 빈

자리를 상상하도록 한다. 이를 통해 작가는 이미지를 하나의 고정된 결과물이 아니라 끊임없이 생성되고 변주되는 과정으로 제시한다.

The Reference presents Wandering faces from April 11 to May 9, 2026, a solo exhibition by Lee Eunjee, selected as Best Portfolio at OPEN PT 2024. In this exhibition, the artist explores the gap between experience and image through the temporal lag between photographing and darkroom printing. By deconstructing and reconfiguring her subjects, she expands the materiality and temporality of photography through an experimental approach.

Although trained in design rather than photography, Lee Eunjee became engaged with the medium through a chance encounter with the darkroom process, leading her to focus on light, time, and the material transformation of photographic paper. Her repetitive acts of tearing, cutting, and assembling function as a process of merging personal memory and the unconscious with photographic images. This method, like a closed door, cannot be accessed directly but instead invites the viewer’s imagination, suggesting what lies beyond the visible surface.

Lee’s photographs operate beyond singular documentation, forming a spectrum where different sensations and temporalities intersect. The fragmented and cut images reveal absence while simultaneously prompting viewers to imagine what is missing. Through this, she presents the image not as a fixed result, but as an ongoing process of generation and transformation.
